Money Well Spent

I think there’s only one thing worse than buying concert tickets and coming to find out you don’t really want to see the concert. We’ve all done this, haven’t we? I did once, when my girlfriend Tina and I thought we wanted to go see Traci – shit I forgot her last name. Hot country singer with the big boobs? Yeah, her. Anyway, Clay Walker was opening up for her and I didn’t really want to see him. I actually can’t stand him, to be honest. But yeah I wanted to see her.

Anyway, so I bought some tickets. The night came that we were supposed to go see her and we just really didn’t feel like going. We didn’t sell the tickets, or give them away or burn them or anything like that. We just… didn’t go.

But there’s only one thing I would think is more idiotic than that.

And that is completely forgetting about the concert. Heh. I could have sold last night’s Pearl Jam tickets (they were excellent seats) and been just fine. Hell, I would have been happy getting half my money back for them. But I forgot. So when I got home from work today and H24 reminded me that the Pearl Jam concert was last night, I simply shook my head, acknowledging my complete idiocy. What kind of a moron spends over a hundred dollars on tickets, then forgets to go? Damn.

I guess there isn’t much point being upset about it now – there’s nothing I can do about it now. But it sure makes me think of what else I could have done with that money. Phew. Well, there’s one thing I will absolutely refuse to do: and that’s go look at any reviews of the concert. You know, because this one could have been the one where Eddie calls me up on stage and tells Stone to hand his guitar to me. Just for one song. Or passes me a mic and tells me to sing Porch or Jeremy because he thinks I sing it better. You just never know. Unless you go. Which I didn’t. God I feel like a fool.
