My dog loves people. Just about anyone who comes to my house is immediately accepted and loved, and treated like family. This is not the case if he feels threatened, or if my wife is home alone. In those cases, he’s in attack mode anytime anyone comes to the door. But under normal conditions, my dog is super friendly and is ready to play rope tug with anyone who comes by.

Everyone but Mexicans.

I don’t know what his deal is, but on Thursdays when those guys come to mow my lawn, Hunter goes apeshit. My main man Aaron owns his own landscaping company, and sends his boys out once a week to mow my lawn for me. Now don’t get me wrong, I love these guys. Sometimes when they finish up, I invite them in and give them beers. But my dog don’t like it one bit. I guess he thinks these guys are there to kill us all.

My old dog, a pit bull, was the same way with black people. It’s like he was a racist or something. One time a black guy came to my door to sell me a Bible or something, and my pit bull jumped through the screen. It was a storm door, and the window on it was raised. He tore through the damn screen to get at this guy. He never acted that way with white people. So what the hell is it with all these racist dogs?

I have tried taking him out and holding him and letting him sniff these guys and whatnot, but he won’t have any of it. It pisses me off, because it keeps me from having friends like Santos over for tacos and shit. My dog must have been born in Mississippi. Anyone know of anything that can be done about this? I mean, short of sending him to military school. I don’t think he’d do well in sensitivity training either.
